The 2 Year Mark!

I can not believe Chad and I have been married 2 years now! To celebrate, Chad surprised me by planning an amazing trip to Hawaii. Neither of us had been there before so we had a lot to see!

On Sunday we decided to drive up to see the temple and BYU-Hawaii.
It was raining so we only got a few pictures of the campus from our car.

I have always loved the Hawaii Temple and was so
excited to actually see it in person!

when this was all we saw.
Lets just say we might go back for Christmas so we can see them get a little bigger:) I wish!

We got to see a couple of these turtles up close
after they had crawled up onto the beach

While we waited for there to be some parking at Hanauma Bay,
we found the most amazing beach...
unfortunately this is the only picture we have of it.

Our last night there we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center,
and this was our dinner....

After running the 1/2 marathon in Moab, Chad's sister Stephanie talked me into joining the Ragnar team she was on. It was one of the hardest, most challenging, but most fun things I have ever done!
We had a team of 12 people, and we each ran 3 legs that totalled 192 miles from Logan to Park City.
The scenery was so beautiful we couldn't stop looking around as we ran!

Thanks Steph! This leg was in the middle of the day and so HOT!

I was the runner right before Steph, so this was our first exchange!

Moab, Mead, and Engagements

It has been forever since I posted last, so I have a lot to update!

Ill start with March:
The Walker clan went to Moab to run in the half marathon and 5 mile races. I think Steph was happy to have some others join her in the 1/2 marathon this year!

Meg, Jamie, Abby, Me, Steph, and Tyler ran the half marathon, and Chad, Jen, Erin, Whitney, Kramer, and Shawn ran the 5 mile race.

Then in May.....

We went to Lake Mead!
Friday we had perfect water for wake boarding, warm weather, and even saw some wildlife! It was a perfect weekend for my first time to Lake Mead.

My little sister Lindsay got engaged to Drew!

Drew tricked Lindsay into going up AF canyon to help one of his friends that was stuck in the mud. When they got up to a lake with a canoe and tikki torches around it, Lindsay got a little hint that Drew's friend didn't need their help. They rowed out to the middle of the lake, popped the question, and his friends lit off fireworks! So cute; Good Job Drew!!!
We really like Drew and are so excited to have him join the fam!
These two tie the knot on August 9th!!!

This is the Ipad 2.

This is also Chad's most recent birthday present.

For the month or so before Chad's birthday he had been eying this. Why this one and not the original I pad?

Well... as Apple's website says it's:

1. Thinner

2. Lighter

3. Faster

4. Has Facetime

5. Smart Covers

6. 10 hour battery

So after missing the online deadline to have it before his birthday, we started our search by trying to get one in the store.

After many failed attempts at getting the one or two that came into Walmart or Target... we (well Chad) kind of gave up. The morning of Chad's birthday, I woke up early and called the Layton Walmart. They had 1!!!!!! I left immediately and sped right over to buy it! Can you say LUCKY!!!!

Chad loves it and i kinda lucked out on getting a new toy too!

My whole family was in town for Christmas this year, so us kids decided to surprise our parents by getting Family Pictures. We wanted to take the pictures at Wheeler Farm, but the weather decided that was not an option. Who knew... rain 3 days after Christmas. We were bummed, but instead, we went to the Salt Lake City Library. Check out our photographer's blog.

Highway Debris

I was on my way down to meet some of my old college roommates at the Oquirrh Mountain temple. When THIS happened!!!!

I was getting close to merge onto I-215 and a rock that was larger than a softball fell out of a truck in the lane next to me, and hit my windshield! INSTANT SPIDER WEB!
This reminded me of a news story I saw a few months ago...I'm glad I'm not THIS guy! I guess this stuff really does happen!

So other than the giant rock that decided to hit my windshield; I had a really fun time hanging out with some of my best friends, Genna and Rachelle! I seriously havn't laughed so hard in a long long time!!!!

I just finished the 2nd time around of taking the GRE! I am feeling so great right now... I feel like I just finished taking finals all over again.
Now..... time to do some last minute Christmas shopping!

Who needs matches

Chad's parents gave us a couple pumpkins to carve for Halloween. I thought we had matches to light up our pumpkins; but when I looked in our cabinet, they were gone! What to do.... Well take advantage of our gas stove of course! We lit up the stove, lit some birthday candles to help light up the smaller wick candles inside the pumkins, and then watched the pumkins glow. Problem solved!

I have been spending the week in New Mexico with Natalie, Keith, and baby Ezra before everyone comes into town for the baby blessing. This afternoon there was a lot of down time while Ezra slept; so Natalie and I looked up YouTube videos. I saw this one when it was on TV and I still cannot believe what this little boy can do! Something between crump and hiphop, he is amazing!

Sorry guys, this is NOT an announcement for me and Chad, I just wanted to show off my cute niece and nephew! They both live out of state, so I have to show them off by their pictures. Kyle & Emily had Hadley almost 16 months ago and Keith & Natalie had little Ezra 3 weeks ago!!! I know I am a little bias, but you have to admit they are pretty stinking cute!

This was about a year ago. I can't believe how much older she looks now!

1 Year Down!

This last weekend was our 1 year anniversary! Chad kept what we were doing a secret just like he did for our honeymoon. I both love and hate surprises, but the anticipation part that I hate is unfortunately Chad's favorite. Even though it kills me to wait, the surprise was totally worth it! We stayed the weekend up in Park City, and went to dinner at Chad's favorite Brazilian Restaurant, Rodizio Grill. The outlets in Park City, right before school starts, are crazy.... so we spent all day Saturday shopping for couches instead. After a very long day going from store to store we ended up finding some on KSL that fit perfectly for both our house and our budget.

Everyone has been telling me that I need to update the blog. It's true I do, and I have so much to update...so here it goes.

January:
We started our new Davis County life by moving into this 1 and a half room (the 2nd room is too small to be considered a full bedroom) 1 bath basement apartment in Farmington. It was small, but perfect for just us two! Check out the green floors:)

Chad gave me some beautiful roses for my birthday, and the cutest red shoes!
You can see a little more of what our small apartment looked like behind the flowers.

February:

Not much must of happened because I don't have any pictures for the month.

March:
Chad sends me a text while he is snowboarding that he is on his way home early along with this picture....

Chad had some stitches from having some moles removed. While snowboarding, Chad went off a jump and his phone in his jacket pocket hit right into his stitches....ripping them open. Instacare here we come....

Chad's sister Stephanie talked us into running a 5 mile race in Moab. Maybe next year we will be able to run the half marathon with her! While we were there we hiked up to Delicate Arch.

It was also Chad's birthday March 24! I secretly made this blanket for him with the help of his amazing sister Stephanie, his Mom, and Grandma Walker. (Thanks:)!)

WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!!!!! WE CLOSED ON OUR NEW CONDO THE 26TH OF MARCH!!!! This was another birthday present for Chad:)
This is what our condo looks like, but not ours. I found this one on the internet to show the outside view.

April:

PAINT PAINT PAINT..... We painted our newly purchased condo with the help of our very own expert painter Don (Chad's Dad). (Note to self: a home is not move in ready if it needs to be painted) We literally spent 4 weeks painting the ENTIRE house ceiling to baseboards. NOW it is totally worth it! Luckily Chad's parents live close by, and were willing to let us hang out at their house those 4 weeks we were painting.
These pictures are not the best but here are just a few of what it looks like now we are done painting..... just remember the walls were ALL a celery ice color before this!

Graduation! I graduated in December, but actually walked in April. I am an official college grad now! Emily and Hadley surprised me by coming down to Utah for my graduation! I was so surprised and excited to see them!!!!

I had to add this picture of Chad getting poked in the eye.... I couldn't stop laughing!

May:

Our families helped us move into our new place and we finally felt what it was like to be new home owners!

By the way...thanks to everyone for helping us move in and out these past few months!!! You are all amazing!

I have officially graduated, and am now employed! After 4 months of Chad commuting to Centerville, everyday, we can finally move closer to his work and cut his commute down to less than 10 minutes! I think I have finally hit reality and realized that life is going to change quite a bit. I decided there are a few good-byes I need to make:(

Good-bye Utah County, and Chad's long commute. (Chad has been counting down the days to have it over with)...

Good-bye BYU Campus, Psychology Office, Seeing Mom Lindsay & Michelle almost every day.

Good-bye to having friends close by that I have met these past 4 1/2 years.

Good-bye shopping....okay so there is a lot of great shopping that i am excited to be closer to, but.... one particular mall and a few small stores I will be sad to be further from...(you know who you are!)

Good-bye extra small apartment, lead paint, laundry mat, 3rd floor, no elevator, and great view of Walmart.

Good-bye Traffic of University Parkway and just Provo in general!!!!!! unless you count the summer when all the students have already gone home.

Some of these things I am quite a bit more excited to be leaving than others, but don't worry...we will only be in Farmington, so we will see you all soon!

I know that Thanksgiving is past, but I thought I should write down a few things I am thankful for:

I am thankful for my amazing husband who drives at least 2 hours in the car everyday to work and back so that I can finish up school.
For moving back to Provo after never thinking he would have to step foot here after he graduated.
For always leaving me the best parking spot at the end of the parking spaces.
For scraping the ice off my car window before he leaves to work every day.
For letting me drive his very nice car that he bought, while he drives a car that he sometimes has to wait 15 minutes before it will start.
For letting us get a new washer and dryer for Christmas when what I know he really wants is a new snowboard.
And for making me do my homework so I have good grades this semester.

Yep… I have the best husband ever!
